Young Curators Residency Programe

Every year Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo promotes the Young Curators Residency Programme. The project aims to develop young curators’ intellectual and professional capabilities. The Residency functions as a link between the conclusion of an educational career and the entrance into the professional world.
Every year three young foreign curators are invited to Italy in order to organize an exhibition. Participants are selected among the best international schools for curators such as Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, New York; Independent Study Program, Whitney Museum, New York; MA in Curatorial Practice, California College of the Arts, San Francisco; Curating Contemporary Art MA, Royal College of Art, London; MFA in Curating, Goldsmith’s College, London; De Appel Curatorial Training Programme, Amsterdam; CuratorLab, Konstfack Academy, Stokholm; Ecole du Magasin, Grenoble; CAS/MAS in Curating, Zurich University of the Arts; CCSP University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Candidates are nominated by the director of curatorial schools; an international jury selects the three partecipants.
The residency lasts four months and culminates with an exhibition of Italian artists at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin. Previously to the preparation of the exhibition, curators meet with artists and gallerists, are able to study bibliographical material and visit the major museums, foundations and independent spaces in Milan, Venice, Rome, Bologna, Naples and Palermo.
The Residency Programme is supported by Compagnia di San Paolo.
