ART MEDIATION

ART MEDIATION

Cultural mediation for art is the format chosen by Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo to establish a daily, active relationship with its adult public in the exhibition space.
The service has been active for ten years, and has achieved one of the main goals of the Foundation, i.e. to attract the public to contemporary art by adopting an innovative approach and best practices.
The task of the cultural mediator is to establish, and encourage, direct contact between visitors, the works, and the exhibition, giving indications, stimulating debate and focusing on individual interpretations.
In a perspective of moving on from the guided tour format, this approach aims at transforming the exhibiting space into a place of experience, according to the lifelong learning approach, the idea of constant learning throughout the lifespan.
The cultural mediation service at the Foundation is nonstop, and is available in both Italian and English. Visitors can take advantage of it anytime, any day, in the opening hours. It is free and does not require booking. The service is taken care of by our staff of mediators, consisting of arts and humanities graduates, who attend the permanent training courses organized and produced by the Foundation, which include lessons and workshops.
Numbers: 50% of visitors to the Foundation utilize the mediation service.
Target: general public
