{"id":49266,"date":"2026-04-09T09:26:21","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T07:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fsrr.org\/?p=49266"},"modified":"2026-04-09T09:29:48","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T07:29:48","slug":"isola-di-san-giacomo-venice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fsrr.org\/en\/isola-di-san-giacomo-venice\/","title":{"rendered":"Isola di San Giacomo, Venice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Opening of\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo's\u00a0<\/strong><strong>third location<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>May 7, 2\u20134 pm<br>Isola di San Giacomo, Venice<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On May 7, 2026, on the occasion of the\u00a0unveiling\u00a0its third\u00a0permanent\u00a0venue on the Isola di San Giacomo in Venice, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo presents an extensive\u00a0program that brings together exhibitions, performances, and site-specific installations, with projects specially conceived for the new space in the lagoon and involving international artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0inaugural\u00a0program includes:<br><em>Fanfare\/Lament<\/em>, a solo exhibition by artist Matt Copson, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist. The project combines exhibition and performance, with music composed by Oliver Leith.<br><em>Don\u2019t have hope, be hope!<\/em>, featuring a selection of works from the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Collection.<br><em>Isola di San Giacomo 2022\u20132026, a story in images<\/em>, a series of photographs\u00a0by Giovanna Silva and Antonio Fortugno, invited in 2022 to document the transformation of the island and the restoration of its pre-existing architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition path extends into the outdoor spaces with a series of site-specific installations:&nbsp;<em>GONOGO<\/em>&nbsp;by Goshka Macuga;&nbsp;<em>Old Tree (Pink Seas)<\/em>&nbsp;by Pamela Rosenkranz;&nbsp;<em>Patriarchy = CO\u2082<\/em>&nbsp;by Claire Fontaine;&nbsp;<em>Nixe<\/em>&nbsp;by Thomas Sch\u00fctte;&nbsp;<em>Huff and a Puff<\/em>&nbsp;by Hugh Hayden;&nbsp;<em>Imagine Alighiero Boetti Came to S\u00e3o Paulo and After Putting Water on His Head Left the Hose and Left<\/em>&nbsp;by Mario Garc\u00eda Torres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With its new\u00a0location\u00a0in Venice, the Foundation strengthens its commitment to the promotion of contemporary art and creates a place for production, research, and experimentation, open to dialogue among artists. Fully self-sustaining, the Isola di San Giacomo will also serve as a laboratory for ecological reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to participate:<\/strong><br>On May 7, to allow access to the island, the Foundation provides a dedicated transport service.<br>To take part, please send a request to info@fsrr.org, including your first name, last name, mobile number, and email address. If booking for multiple people, please include the details of each participant (including email and mobile number).<br>Places are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.<br>Departure is scheduled at 2:00 pm from the Giardini (the exact meeting point will be communicated to registered participants).
